Adventure Park

Everyone is familiar with theme parks or amusement parks, but have you ever heard of an adventure park? Adventure parks are just that, parks that you can come to explore and discover the outdoors through various adventurous activities. From ziplines, to climbing walls and ATV tours, adventure parks are a great way for families to get out and have fun together.

Some interesting history – Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park was originally a family farm that was later converted into a zip line. The Postlewaite family continued to expand this park from its initial zip line into the many now available, including the Goliath and Waterfall Canopy. In 2011 we added the 8-wheel “Bear Crawler” ATV tours through the rugged mountains. A year later we added the 330-foot long Bridge to Prosperity, which crosses 70 feet above the river to Prosperity Mountain, which is considered the longest swinging bridge in the US and was modeled after the Capilano swinging bridge in Vancouver, Canada.

We added the Aerial Adventure Course, a 5-lane 60-foot climbing wall and a kid’s obstacle course and play area in 2013.  The following year we added the now famous 5-line Goliath zip line course, which has the highest, longest, and fastest zip line in the Smoky Mountains. There is so much to explore and discover at Foxfire Mountain and it keeps growing every year!

Difference from Dollywood

There are lots of attractions and other parks around like Dollywood. With different theme parks, shops, and more. But there is no place around like Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park. If you are looking to be more adventurous and explore the outdoors and nature, Foxfire is the place for you with zip lines, hiking trails, climbing walls, and so much more for the whole family.

Entire Family Fun

Foxfire Mountain has something for the entire family to enjoy. There are hiking trails and obstacle courses that are fun for everyone. There is also great food. Foxfire has the most delicious southern BBQ and homemade ice cream on this side of the Mountain. In 2012 we added Zippn’ Pig Barbeque Shack where hickory smoked pork is cooked daily and piled high on sweet Hawaiian bread and smothered in a special tomato based sauce. This is a genuine Tennessee barbecue recipe.

Kids

Bridge over river at Foxfire MountainOne of the great things about Foxfire Mountain is the beautiful trails and multiple bridges that meander throughout the 150 acres of large forests, awesome waterfalls, gorgeous vistas, cow and llama pastures, and lazy creek-side treks. These easy to moderate trails will lead you across multiple unique bridges from log bridges to covered bridges and cable bridges, including America’s longest swinging bridge, which is longer than a football field that crosses 70 feet above the east prong of the Little Pigeon River. This adventure is great for all ages and even includes an on-the-ground obstacle course for both children and adults.

Then you can take a ride on the one and only Bear Crawler Adventure of the Smoky Mountains. Experience nature from an extreme 8-wheeled ATV on rugged off-road trails, dodging trees and riding through water to make it to the top of the mountain. This awesome adventure really offers a unique view of the forest like you won’t get anywhere else in The Great Smoky Mountain Area. Sit back and listen to tales of Foxfire Mountain as the guides take you back in history.

Teens and Adults

Are you up for a challenge? You can test your climbing skills on the largest climbing wall in the Smoky Mountains. The Gorilla climbing wall is over 60 feet high and has five climbing lanes of varying degrees of difficulty.  This state-of-the-art climbing wall is complete with molded hand grips and foot rocks and has an automatic belay system so if you let loose it will gently lower you to the ground. This is a family fun adventure and is recommended for all ages from 5 to 95.

And after you’ve conquered the Gorilla climbing wall, brace yourself for the Goliath Zip Line! This zip line course is the highest in the Smoky Mountains at 475 feet and the longest course at that height. This is the adventure of a lifetime that you will never forget. The views are absolutely amazing and the bragging rights are priceless! This tour has limited capacity and often fills up, so be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible to reserve your desired tour time.

Fly past the falls on the only zip line in the Smokies that actually zips over a waterfall. The Waterfall Canopy tour is a true Smoky Mountain jungle tour where you zip from tree to tree like Tarzan. Get set to experience the majesty, and mystic beauty of the Smoky Mountains as you zip across valleys and creeks for two hours on seven tree platforms. Here you will zip across mountains, over creeks and waterfalls, on to the side of rock cliffs, across valleys, and then back to the base camp. An awesome bonding experience for the entire family. This beautiful and scenic tour has seven different lines and two sky bridges with several platforms, each with their own unique characteristics. The tour lasts approximately 2-hours and will zip you right over our very own Lost Mine Falls.

Choose your Adventure or Sit Back and Relax

And parents, we know that at the end of the day it is nice to relax with an ice cold beverage. In 2016 we added the soon-to-be famous Wyile Cidery, where hand-crafted hard and soft ciders are made from scratch and sold at the Foxfire Mountain Gift Shop. As the only Craft Cidery in Tennessee, we are excited to introduce the all-natural, high-quality cider that you have been waiting for. Tour the Cidery and be the first to taste our first two hand-crafted ciders creations – O’Klee’s Dry Cider and Keeva’s Sweet Cider! Though we have more ciders on the way, these tasty ciders are sure to hold you over until your new favorites arrive!
